Ashaway, Ashaway, Ashaway All

Hello! This is the first entry for the unofficial Ashaway Free Library blog, as you may be able to tell by the username, title, and the “About Me” section. As of this moment, the blog is still very much under construction, but I hope to have it at least semi-presentable by the end of today or tomorrow afternoon.

Again, this is an unofficial blog, at least for the time being. I’ve created it primarily as a requirement for a Library 2.0: Social Networking class that I’m taking as a graduate student at URI for Library and Information Science. However, I’d like to think that if it is well-received and/or if Heather likes it enough, it may eventually be taken over and used in some formal, official capacity as well.

Ashaway is a very traditional little library in most respects and I know that it’s vital to maintain that sense of history and the small-town vibe, but I also think that it’s very important to try to take advantage of some of the tools made so readily available as we press ever onward into the 21st century.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy what you find here, and I really hope that you enjoy what you can find at the library itself! If you’ve never been, please check out the tabs at the top of the page for contact information and directions, and if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
